Selling approximately 125 head of top quality show steer prospects & 25 heifers from some of the best herds in Ohio. More county fair champions produced from this sale than any other sale in Ohio. Calves will sell in everyone’s price range. All calves broke to lead. Majority of calves A.I. Sired by the top club calf bulls. Mostly crossbred – few registered purebred calves. 2017 Ohio Feeder Calf Roundup News Release

A beautiful fall weekend welcomed exhibitors and prospective buyers to the 51st Ohio Feeder Calf Roundup weekend, September 23rd and 24th, 2017. A total of 141 head of steers and heifers were shown on Saturday and sold on Sunday.

A 582 pound steer exhibited by Wood & Co. / William Wood, Amsterdam, OH was selected as Grand Champion and sold for $6,000. A 678 pound steer exhibited by the Joe Lucas Family, Amesville, OH was the Reserve Champion Steer and sold for $3,000.

Both the Grand Champion and the Reserve Champion sold to James Brumfield, Gallipolis, OH. In the heifer division Woodard Cattle Co. New Concord, OH exhibited the Grand Champion that sold for $3,500. to Menzie Cattle, Cambridge, OH. The Reserve Champion Heifer was exhibited by Shegog Farms, Cambridge, OH. and sold for $2,100. to Marvin Ward, Jerusalem, OH.

An excellent crowd was in attendance for the show on Saturday and Sunday brought another good crowd from Ohio and several neighboring states as well as Ontario, Canada. The average for the 47 heifers was $1,285. and the 94 steers averaged $1,428.
